Seth Rotherham needs no introduction- love him or hate him here is what he has to say on SA Geek Fashion.

Name & location
Seth Rotherham, based in Camps Bay and the Mount Nelson – Cape Town.
Geek title
I’m the founder and CEO of 2oceansvibe Media. I developed and designed all the original 2oceansvibe websites until about 4 years ago when I had to hand over to “experts.” Also currently developing a new twitter driven concept called Birdi.
Explain your style.
It changes every day depending on my mood. I can switch from grunge all-black with hightops and wayfarers, to preppie with cricket jersey and Persols. When I’m lazy I switch into skater mode and don’t mind tracksuit pants, hoodie and lumo shades. I am very comfortable in a Ralph Lauren jacket and slacks, as I am in an Armani tux, with open-neck shirt (embroidered initials et al). I’m fairly amazing in white and blue pajama pants and a batman T-shirt. Also quite thrilling when naked.

Of the outfit you are wearing today, which is your favourite item and why?
I’d have to say the red jeans. They’re awfully King’s Road and sit in the cupboard all year round, waiting for their moment to come. Their moment is at the Mount Nelson and that is where I was when that photo was taken. Red jeans or any coloured pair of jeans fit seamlessly into the Mount Nelson. No-one bats an eyelid. But not tight. Go loose. Loose mustard would be good.
Which SA geek do you think dresses well? If any.
I think the Perel brothers from Obox (genuinely) dress well. They’re clearly making an effort. Not sure if it’s just for me but there is definitely a sense of oneupmanship around them. Fashion-wise.
Where do you shop?
Locally I buy special one-off limited editions from Puma. People don’t know about these special items – only Puma regulars will know. Like my veldskoen and also my tweed zip jacket – everyone loves it and they’re always surprised it’s from Puma. I also nail Fabiani when it comes to well-made reasonably priced suits (ask for their 2oceansvibe discount). Mostly I shop overseas in the US and France. Boutique shops along the coast in towns like Cassis.
Which look will you never wear?
Chinos. Just not my vibe. I know there is a LARGE contingency who rock the chinos and blue shirt (and Caterpillar shoes) and I think that’s great – you should celebrate that vibe. Celebrate the Okaleys and the shaven head. It’s just not for me. Like perhaps a good cashmere jersey is not YOUR vibe. It happens to be mine. So let’s just carry on with our own vibe. Cool? Thanks.
What is your power song?
Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey. Or any power song by the Dirty Skirts or Ard Matthews or Jack Parow.
To whom do you belong?
My partner is Sam Walker (La Muse from popyacollar.co.za) – she is a fashion buyer at Woolworths and runs a fashion blog. I think it’s fair to say she dresses me. I was handling fine before she came along and she reckons she improved my style. I was coincidentally made GQ’s Best Dressed Man in SA, which she confidently takes all the credit for.

Thanks so much Seth for all your awesome answers.
So happy to see you rocking some red pants. Hopefully it will spark some conservative SA men into color for season!
