Next up for what South African geeks wear… Mike Stopforth boys and girls, now deal with that!

Name & location
Mike Stopforth. Morningside, Johannesburg.
Geek title.
I currently work at Cerebra and also co-founded the 27dinner events with Dave Duarte.

Explain your style.
Um. I think style = comfort + confidence. I have been seen wearing some pretty arb things in the hope that it would look stylish but inevitably revert back to things that feel and look comfortable.

Of the outfit you are wearing today, which is your favourit item and why?
Of what I’m wearing right now? Probably my pants – they’re comfortable and easy to wear with lots of other things. I usually wear jeans though. As an aside, “pants” is such a ridiculous word when you type it out, ha ha.

Which SA geek do you think dresses well?
I agree with Nic Haralambous from your previous post – Dave Perel has a great sense of style. I have always really admired Scott Gray from Quirk’s sense of style too. Also a fan of how Richard Mulholland has his own very distinctive look and vibe.

Where do you shop?
There’s a cool little store in the Morningside Centre called Infinite63 that I spend too much money at. Also Diesel, SuperDry are favourites. And then I buy clothes when I go overseas – there are some things you get there that you can never find in SA. I’d like to try shopping online more but worry about getting the sizing wrong.

Which look will you never wear? (Indie, grunge etc.)
I thought Indie and Grunge were music genres icon wink South African Geek Fashion Founder of Cerebra & Co founder of 27dinners, Mike Stopforth . No I’d probably never go Goth.

What is your power song? ( What song gets you going.)

“Gets you going” is a broad term icon wink South African Geek Fashion Founder of Cerebra & Co founder of 27dinners, Mike Stopforth Before I Forget” by Slipknot, “Bridge Burning” by Foo Fighters and “Killing In The Name Of” by Rage Against The Machine are all good songs for getting to meetings on time. But the ultimate feel good songs are 80′s pop tunes like A-Ha’s “Take On Meicon smile South African Geek Fashion Founder of Cerebra & Co founder of 27dinners, Mike Stopforth

Whom do you belong to? (Please be honest and let me know- does your partner dress you?)

My significant other is the undeniably adorable Anna Vaulina, who does not dress me but has been known to undress me – does that count? I do rely heavily on her opinion when buying new stuff.

How can we find you?
I can be found on the Twitters

What super cool answers, Thanks so much Mike for sharing your style and power songs with us. I like the “pants” btw!
